A Month in Paris... Rodin

The metro is a great way to get around in Paris, and once you get an idea of the way it works, it is really very easy. The yellow line 1 stops at many of the major tourist attractions, Champs Elysees, Concorde, Notre Dame, The Louvre, The Tuileries. We have had a great time hoping on and off just to see what is above the station. This time we left the Metro at Varenne Station to visit Musee Rodin - time to wander the gardens and museum.

There were hardly any people arriving the day we visited and of course, everyone was lining up for their turn to ponder...

Our favourite statue at Musee Rodin

Inner Voice - Rodin considered this statue his best work

Rodin had many artist friends who passed on their paintings to him... lucky Rodin.

I get goosebumps standing in front of a painting where a master painter once stood... I wonder what they were thinking, what was going on in their lives at that time. I notice the tiny little brush strokes here and how Vincent outlined in yellow and blue. I noticed the under painting where he had gone over something, and the thick splodges of texture almost careless or was that care-free in painting technique?
